Sandbags
Attention Shoreline Property Owners: EGLE is Instructing Residents to Remove Sandbags.
The Township is sure all shoreline property owners are aware of sandbag removal requirements from their property. EGLE officials have posted a Public Notice in the Detroit Free stating “Property Owners along the three Great Lakes and Lake St. Clair should remove sandbags that were placed along the shoreline in 2020.” This authorization calls for the removal of sandbags once the water level fell below the ordinary High-Water Level, as deteriorating sandbags could leave plastic pollution in the water and shorelines.
Lawn Maintenance
Notice of Obligation to Cut Weeds was published on March 26, 2025. The Township wants all Property Owners in the Community aware of this Notice. Please make sure that your property is maintained. This includes Phragmites and the spread of vines. If a resident receives notice, only one letter will be sent for the 2025 season. The Township may schedule cuts to your property if violations remain.
